Start with three jars

Give, save, spend. The proportions matter less than the habit of dividing money before spending any of it.

A teen who divides her first fifty dollars will divide her first salary the same way.

Teach the cost of borrowing

Proverbs 22:7 is not a condemnation of debt, it is a description of what debt does to your freedom.

Work one real example together: a three hundred dollar phone on a card at twenty-four percent, paid at twenty-five dollars a month. Let the arithmetic make the point.

Generosity and freedom are both built from the same habit: decide before you spend.
